The Climate !
Deciduous forests are in Köppen's C climate category. The latitude ranges from 23° north to 38° south. The Deciduous Forest biome has four distinct seasons; spring, summer, autumn, and winter. Its mild summers average around about 70 degrees fahrenheit. The average temperature in the deciduous forest is about 50 degrees F. The average amount of rainfall in the forest is 30 to 60 inches a year. As the seasons change, so do the colors of the leaves of the deciduous. During the winter months water is generally not available to keep the leaves of some plants alive. So the leaves of some plants fall off and grow back in the spring. The plants like evergreens, keep their leaves during the winter and have special adaptations to stay alive. This forest receives an average precipitation of about 14 inches of rain in the winter. As expected, the amount of rainfall during summer season is higher than winter months, which accounts to about 18 inches. Since rainfall is evenly distributed throughout the year, there is no issue for drought and flood in the deciduous forest . June marks the beginning of summer for the deciduous forest, and it continues till the end of August. The Deciduous forest represents moderately warm conditions during these three months. On an average summer day, the temperature in the area ranges from about 70 degrees Fahrenheit.
